LEICESTER are looking for their second away win of the season when they travel to King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Monday (7.30pm).
The Watling JCB Lions put in an improved performance at Belle Vue last Monday where they went down by just six points thanks largely to a stunning performance from skipper Max Fricke.
However, they remain outside the play-off places albeit just one point behind Oxford ahead of the trip to the Adrian Flux Arena where they face an improving Stars side.
King’s Lynn endured a nightmare start to the season but have been revitalised by wins over Oxford and away at Birmingham, as well as giving Sheffield a tough fight in their KO Cup semi-final.
But the Stars do have problems with captain Tobiasz Musielak having been absent from UK racing since early May, whilst former Lions rider Nicolai Klindt suffered season-ending injuries in a crash in Poland last weekend.
The home side bring in Steve Worrall to guest for Klindt whilst rider replacement is in operation for Musielak.
It is at reserve where the Stars pose a real threat with both Patryk Wojdylo – who is due back after missing their match at Sheffield on Thursday – and Rising Star Anders Rowe having had several high-scoring performances this season.
The Lions return to their regular septet with British Under-21 Champion Sam Hagon back at No.7 after missing the trip to Belle Vue last week.
And in terms of Adrian Flux Arena experience, Richard Lawson has been a regular guest for the Stars this season and will look to put that to good use in his combination with Fricke.
Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “We’re five points up from the first meeting which was a win we had to work hard for although it feels like an eternity ago, so our first target will be to get the aggregate point.
“We realise they are without their No.1 and also Nicolai Klindt who we send our very best wishes to, but notwithstanding that I still think they look very strong.
“I would say we had a more encouraging performance at Belle Vue last Monday, but there are still a couple of riders who can add more to what they scored last week.
“If we’re going to have any chance of firstly getting the aggregate point and secondly any other points, we need all seven to come to the party. We know the job in hand.”
